Based on the success of the event in the previous 2 years, Malaysia Batik Week 2005 will be held from 2 – 12 December 2005. It will be launched on 2 December 2005 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the KLCC Esplanade.

A host of activities have been planned for the event, such as batik fashion show, batik bazaar, fun walk, batik demonstration and exhibition and batik colouring contest. Shopping malls and hotels around the Klang Valley are encouraged to decorate their premises in batik and organize activities with batik theme. The Batik Bazaar, where collections of local batik products are being sold, will be held at selected malls. Batik-making demonstration will also be organized at selected venues, providing opportunities for those who are interested, to try their hands at tjanting or batik drawing. Art Galleries in the city are also invited to participate and organize batik related exhibitions.
